I'm proud to say I'm a native Texan,  born & raised in San Antonio,Texas.  I received my Bachelor's  Degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Interior Design from OU. (and loved being a Sooner)  However,  I've lived in Austin awhile though and so I must say I'm a huge UT fan on game days!

After being in the retail world of fashion,  I shifted my focus to residential interiors and became certified in 1999.

 Immediately I started a freelance interior decorating business, Van Wicklen Design.

I've established a great relationship with honest, hard working subcontractors,  and high quality fabric & upholstery workrooms.
I love to update a client's home with interesting details ,  pops of modern mixed with the classic,  & a twist of unique pieces.    I enjoy collaborating with clients to create a home that is uniquely theirs, and not just another model home copy.  I listen carefully to my clients hobbies, likes/dislikes  , their budget, and how they'll use each room.    I truly work to find the best look at the best price. 

I love to also share my design passion  by writing articles on my design blog.
When I'm not creating or writing, I love Pilates, yoga,reading,  travel, tennis & spending time with my family & pets.
