I've had a passion for decorating truly since I was very young. I left for the University of Oklahoma knowing that I wanted to be an Interior Decorator. However, during my time at school, my Dad somehow convinced me that I should go into the fashion world, so I quickly changed gears and received my degree in the Fashion Merchandising Program. However, later in life, I realized my passion for interiors never changed. Later in 1999, I received my certification and finally started doing what I loved the most. Truly the fashion world and interior design work hand in hand & I now see that having knowledge in both areas is key to good design.
Interior design is always evolving just like fashion. However, I always stay true to having classic furniture pieces, adding some twist of modern, patina, and the rustic. I feel that your home should always be your sanctuary and my job is to figure out what you & your family love and how to make your home uniquely yours. A home that is beautiful, comfortable and makes a statement about who you are.
All aspects of design are my passion. However, my favorite projects are renovations & shopping for a client's home, staging it while they're away and surprising them with the makeover.
I'm married to Steven, my sweet patient hubby that puts up with all my ideas. We both grew up in San Antonio, and have known each other since 7th grade. Together we have remodeled or built 14 homes (including our current Spicewood home and our Colorado vacation rental). We share the fun renovating homes, spending time in Colorado at our vacation home, hiking, tennis, gardening, cooking & especially spending time with our family & pets. I do love pilates and yoga on occasion too :).
Proud Mom of 3, and "GiGi" to an adorable 6 yr old Grandson. We also have two lovingly spoiled dogs, Dylan & Cooper.
I've been designing unique spaces in the Texas Hill Country for nearly ten years, incorporating antiques, natural textiles, and modern accents in layered styles that create dramatic visual interest. A frequenter of the bi-annual Round Top antique shows, I've developed relationships with several importers of European antiques and furnishings, which I love adding to my designs for unique pops of interest. I'm married to Thomas and we've lived in Lakeway for the past nine years. Together we have three small children. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and spending time with my family boating on Lake Travis.
From a very young age, I have been obsessed with all things home interiors and design. When I was young I would watch HGTV over any other channel on TV and still do. My husband Mehdi and I, with our two children Hendrix and Lila, have lived in 6 homes, in 6 years, in 3 states, building two of those. Some might think we're a little crazy and sometimes that's how I feel, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love designing homes from the ground up and then seeing those designs come to life. We are already dreaming of our next build! I blog about our homes as well as my designs at www.spadastudio.com. I have always helped friends and family with their own home designs, and hope to be an inspiration to my followers.
My professional career has always been on the creative side as well, including digital marketing, social media marketing, and content creation. I have had the privilege of working with some amazing people in multiple different industries, including the fitness industry, real estate, and hospitality, but it has always been my dream to work in the interior design world! I am thrilled to come on board with JVW Home and apply the skills I have learned in other industries while I learn from some of the best designers in our area.
